Early on, I developed a passion for helping others. Diving into the field of Psychology to me was a no-brainer. In over a decade, I’ve trained and worked in various psychiatric hospitals, rehabilitation facilities in both Europe and the U.S. and presently work at a maximum-security prison in Alabama.
After giving birth to my son 12 years ago, losing 70lbs was quite a struggle since I still was under the impression to be able to out train a sub-ideal diet. I succeeded. Weight wise.
It wasn’t until my daughter was born, 7 years later, after I had gained a whopping 75lbs and was working a full-time job, that I realized, restricting myself nutritionally and punishing my body with an excessive amount of cardio was no longer desirable. I knew I needed to make a change. One that was both sustainable and enjoyable. Yes, I wanted to achieve a “dream body” but the desire went beyond just the physical. I wanted to be able to enjoy the zest of life.
I submerged myself in effective workouts on limited time and proper nutrition rather than fad diets. I discovered the importance of mindfulness and mindset and ultimately became certified as a Health Coach.
As a certified Health and Wellness Professional I help you to transform your life by taking a holistic look at nutrition and exercise, facilitating a shift towards your dream body. While for most an ideal body centers around weight loss, we will furthermore specify on reforming body image, mindset and overall improving self-love and consequently quality of life.
My program is for the busy mom who feels like she’s tried it all: diets, workouts - you name it - yet nothing seems to work in making her feel better about herself, her body and so she feels like even more of a failure. My experience and knowledge as a Health Coach combined with my extensive experience as a Mental Health Clinician makes me an ideal guide for you in facilitating behavior change. Together we will focus on intuitive eating rather than dietary restrictions employing a holistic and client centered philosophy. I truly believe that sustainable results come from a shift in mindset – focusing on abundance rather than lack.
It is my wholehearted passion to increase my clients’ awareness and capacity for change, educate and guide clients holistically toward a general state of wellbeing. It doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Small steps will make a big difference. I will help you simplify things: using food and simple lifestyle habits to feel your best. I will help you gain momentum and not quit. I will serve as your supportive mentor in your journey of self-discovery and self-directed action to help you feel your absolute best.
