I am passionate about helping women achieve their healthiest and best lives through optimizing their nutrition and lifestyle. I work with women in all stages of life and a wide range of concerns: weight management, hormonal problems, digestive issues, fertility and pregnancy, anti-aging. I also work with children and spouses so that the whole family can be well-nourished. My approach is always on whole-body health and uncovering the reasons behind a problem and then developing comprehensive solutions.
I have been in private practice since 2009, first in New Jersey and since 2016 in the Raleigh area. I completed my clinical internship at the University of Medicine of New Jersey and earned a masters degree in nutrition, focusing on diets for weight loss in women with polycystic ovary syndrome. Prior to becoming a registered dietitain, I was a certified fitness trainer. I love to cook and eat ethnic foods and be as active as I can be. My husband and I have 3 adult children and 1 grandchild.
Do you specialize in women's health?
Yes, all facets of women's health and wellness throughout the lifespan. I also help women who want to guide their partners and families to better nutrition.
Do you offer weight loss programs?
I have helped hundreds of women lose weight by uncovering the root cause of their weight gain. My approach is to address underlying nutritional excesses and deficiencies and remove the reasons the body is holding onto fat. Your program will be unique to you, there is no one-size-fits all solution that works for everybody.
Are you familiar with holistic and functional medicine?
Yes, that is exactly how I approach each patient - by investigating the factors that contribute to a problem and addressing them. I offer food sensitivity and whole-body micronutrient testing, and am fully versed in interpreting both conventional and functional laboratory testing.
Can you help someone with hormonal problems?
Hormonal problems such as PCOS and irregular periods almost always have a nutritional imbalance that contributes to them. I will look at your hormonal profile, physical signs of hormonal imbalances, dietary intake, and all available bloodwork to design a nutritional plan to help support a healthy hormonal balance.
Do you work with children?
I love helping families with children get on a better nutritional track! My approach is to engage a child at their interest level and help him or her learn how the foods they eat help them grow strong and healthy. My goal is for a child to want to take care of their bodies while taking the focus off of weight.
