Psychiatry may be combined with medication to help treat mental disorders. The medications can help correct imbalances in brain chemistry that are thought to be involved in some mental disorders. The classes of medications are Antidepressants, Antipsychotic medications, Sedatives and anxiolytics, Hypnotics, Mood stabilizers, Stimulants.
