My name is Lucia Travaglino, I was born in Genova (Italy) and by the age of six me and my family moved to a small town in the countryside.
Since I was a young girl I struggled with food allergies and intolerances, I was chubby and bullied because of that.
Those were the years where the love for books and dance therapy kept me going.
My parents went through a really bad divorce, so I had to step up and help my younger brother by starting to work week-ends and summers.
After high-school I moved To Milan to study dance-theater and Science of Education at the University.
After graduation I came to New York on vacation with my boyfriend who’s now my husband, we have been together for over thirteen years. While we were visiting I made an audition for a Dance Company and, beyond my belief, I was asked to join for a one year project.
Long story short, I decided to move to New York to improve my English, my dance and to work in fashion. I don’t really know how I survived the first year working three part-time jobs, dancing and keeping a long distance relationship, but I did and I am still here in New York after eleven years.
I kept studying and I worked as a teacher and personal trainer for years as well as continuing my career in fashion management.
Five years ago Luna Rose was born, I had a good pregnancy, besides a lot of morning sickness the first months and a Crazy delivery (I will share more if you are interested).
I went to work nine weeks after she was born and breastfeed for about a year and a half. I am super thankful for my experience, but I have to say that sleep deprivation, breastfeeding and working full time did a number on me. My hormones were completely out of whack and I ended up in the hospital twice.
Also, being a new parent, with a demanding job and a traveling husband, the situation became a perfect storm and a test for our relationship.
So for the past years I kept learning and researching to understand better what I was experiencing and I always really enjoyed working with women, whether it was as a personal trainer, teacher or coach.
So I am now putting myself out there as I hope I connect with more women and I would love to be able to support some of you in your journey.
