Dosage Calculator
Calculate weight-based dosage for medications, supplements, and herbal preparations. Determine total dose and volume to administer from patient weight and concentration.
Weight-based dosing is the standard of care for many medications, supplements, and herbal preparations. Naturopaths calculating tincture doses, health coaches reviewing supplement protocols, and clinical practitioners verifying medication orders all benefit from a reliable dosage calculator. This tool takes three inputs — patient weight, the prescribed dose per kilogram, and the concentration of the preparation — and calculates both the total dose needed and the volume to administer. It supports both metric and imperial weight inputs and provides clear, easy-to-verify results.
Dosage Calculator
Calculate total dose and volume to administer based on patient weight.
How to Use This Calculator
Enter the patient's body weight in either pounds or kilograms. Enter the prescribed dose in mg per kg of body weight. Enter the concentration of the medication or supplement in mg per mL. The calculator will display the total dose in milligrams and the volume to administer in milliliters.
Formula & Method
Total Dose (mg) = Patient Weight (kg) × Prescribed Dose (mg/kg). Volume to Administer (mL) = Total Dose (mg) ÷ Concentration (mg/mL). For imperial weight input, pounds are converted to kilograms by dividing by 2.205.
